Exciting Updates from the Internal Medicine Residency at Northeastern Health System!

We are excited to welcome back Dr. Galdamez as our new Resident Clinic Attending Physician at NHS! Dr. Galdamez was instrumental in establishing our Internal Medicine Residency Program over 15 years ago, and we are delighted to have him return to this vital role. With his wealth of knowledge and extensive experience, we are confident that he will have a tremendous positive impact on both our residents and patients. Please join us in celebrating Dr. Galdamez’s return to the NHS family!

We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Frank who has decided to join the NHS family after graduating from his residency! We are so proud to have him continue his journey with us and are excited about the future.

Lastly, a big congratulations to Dr. Dahlquist on matching with the Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Iowa! We wish Dr. Dahlquist all the best as he takes the next step in his medical career.

The future is bright at Northeastern Health System, and we couldn't be more excited for the amazing progress our Residents are making.

Esprit BTK

Dr. Cohlmia is one of the very first physicians in Oklahoma and Arkansas to utilize a dissolvable stent treatment option for people with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) below-the-knee (BTK).

Until now, there were limited treatment options approved for blocked arteries below the knee in the U.S.

Abbott’s Esprit™ BTK System is implanted during a minimally invasive catheter-based procedure via a small incision in the leg. Once the blockage is open, the Esprit™ BTK System keeps the arteries open and delivers a drug called everolimus, to support vessel healing until it is strong enough to remain open on its own.
