Dr. Pollock brings a wealth of knowledge and over 30 years of experience to our Hematology, Oncology and Infusion Services team.Dr. Pollock is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Fellow American College of Osteopathic Internist and American Osteopathic Association.
SURGICAL ONCOLOGY
Dr. James Smith, Surgical Oncologist, completed surgical residency training in New
Rochelle NY, followed by Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology at New York’s
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital. He worked at Loma Linda University Medical
Center, a Teaching Hospital in Southern CA, where he enjoyed working with
Surgical Residents and Medical Students. He then accepted a position in a private
practice, before choosing to serve Veterans as Chief of Surgery in various VA
Hospitals, concurrently serving as a regional director of surgery. Despite
specialized training in surgical oncology, Smith also provides care in general
surgery. He is happy to have returned home to Tahlequah to reside full time with
family, and provide general and oncological services to our area. Prior to his
education, Dr. James Smith lived in Puebla, Mexico with his parents while they
completed missionary work. Being fluent in Spanish has allowed Dr. Smith to
provide care to a larger population within our rural community. He currently has
been with Northeastern Health System for 2 years and has provided our area with
general and surgical care.
